Scholar Knit Fashions

Scholar Knit Fashions is located at No. 9 / 379 A & B. We are in Sri Lakshmi Nagar, which is just off Park College Road. The area is Arulpuram, and the post office is right there too. It is a bit of a maze to get here if you do not know the turns. We have two units, A and B, which are right next to each other. One side is for the actual knitting and the other side is for packing and storage. It keeps the mess somewhat contained. The road leading up to the park college can get very crowded when classes let out. We try to time our deliveries to avoid that mess. The building is just a standard concrete structure. We have some trees out front that give a bit of shade. Most of the people here have been working in the textile industry for years. We do not need much instruction anymore. We just see the designs and start working. The air inside smells like fresh cotton. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend the morning fixing them. That is just part of the trade. We have a small break area where we keep the water cooler. It is a basic setup, but it serves us well. Arulpuram is a good place for this kind of work. Lots of other businesses like ours are nearby. We keep to our own space and get the orders out.
