Sakthi Forgings

Sakthi Forgings is located right on 26, Mettupalayam Road, over in the N G G O Colony area. It’s a busy road, so there is always traffic and noise passing by our front door. We do forging work here, which means it’s loud and there is a lot of heat coming from the machines. It’s definitely not the kind of place you’d come for a quiet chat. We started this place because we saw a need for these kinds of metal parts in the local market around here. My uncle used to work in a similar shop years ago, and then we decided to open this one. The shop floor is always full of iron scraps and heavy tools. We spend most of our time making sure the machines are running right and that the work is getting finished on time. Sometimes the metal dust gets everywhere, but we try to sweep up the main areas at the end of the shift. Most of the people working here live nearby in the colony, so they just walk or bike to work every morning. It’s a tight-knit group of guys. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. If you need someone, you usually have to shout over the hammers or find us in the back area where we keep the finished pieces. It’s straightforward, honest work. We don't try to make it sound like something it isn't. It’s just forging. If you pass by the colony, you can probably hear us.
