Sakthi Eco Bags

Sakthi Eco Bags is located at 318 Patel Road in Ramnagar. We are right on the main stretch, so we see a lot of the local traffic going back and forth all day. Our main thing is making bags out of materials that aren't just plastic, so we have rolls of cloth and jute stacked up in the back. The shop floor is usually covered in little bits of thread and offcuts from the sewing machines. We have a few local ladies who come in to help with the stitching and the finishing touches. It is a noisy place when all the machines are going at once, but we are used to it by now. Patel Road is a good spot because it is easy for the delivery vans to pull up right in front of the door. We spend our afternoons packing the bags into bundles of fifty or a hundred. The front of the shop has a small counter where we talk to anyone who drops by to ask about prices or sizes. It is a very simple operation. We don't have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the bags are sturdy and that we get the orders finished on time. The air smells a bit like raw cotton and old wood. It is just a local workshop where we put in the hours every day, making something useful for the neighborhood and the city beyond.
