S K Engineering

S K Engineering is situated over at Balaji Garden in Subramaniyapalayam, near the Gnanambika Mills. It’s a decent spot, a bit away from the main city noise but still busy enough. The workshop is where we spend all our hours. It’s full of various metal-working tools and parts that we’ve collected over time. Being near the mills means there is always a bit of an industrial feel to the air. We start the morning by checking the machines and seeing what needs fixing or making. There’s no big corporate office here, just a small space with a desk where we handle the paperwork and the bills. The walls are painted a dull color and have calendars and old notes taped to them. We mostly focus on the engineering side of things, getting the dimensions right and making sure the parts fit. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing on our feet. The neighborhood is fairly quiet, mostly workers and local residents moving about. We have a few assistants who help with the heavy lifting and the cleaning up. It gets a bit cluttered when we have several jobs going at once, with scrap metal sitting in the corners. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. As long as the machines are running and the work is getting done, we are satisfied. It’s just a regular engineering shop doing its part in Subramaniyapalayam.
