Our office is right on the first floor near the flyover on Cross Cut Road in Gandhipuram. Being so close to the flyover means there is a constant hum of traffic that you just stop hearing after a week or two. Rogress Techno Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away in this spot, and it’s actually quite convenient once you know where to look. We spend most of our time at 588, looking out at the bridge and the people moving below. The space is a bit rectangular and narrow, so we have to be careful not to bump into each other when we’re moving equipment around. We have some shelves that are sagging under the weight of old manuals and spare components. It’s a practical place, not something you’d see in a magazine. We mostly just focus on the tasks we have for the day. Sometimes the internet is a bit patchy when the rain starts, which gives us an excuse to take a break. We don’t have a receptionist or anything, so if someone knocks, whoever is closest to the door just gets up. It’s a simple way of doing things and it works for us. The floor gets a bit cold in the mornings, but by noon it’s warm enough. We like being in this part of town because everything you need is just a short walk away, from tea shops to hardware stores.
