Pioneer Mills Higher Secondary School

We have been here in Jothipuram for a while now. Most people around Coimbatore know the Pioneer Mills Higher Secondary School because it is tucked right into No 3. The morning starts early here with kids coming in from all over the neighborhood. We have the usual classrooms and a big enough space for them to run around during the breaks. It gets quite noisy when the bell rings, but that is just how it is with a higher secondary setup. Teachers spend most of their day at the blackboards or sitting at their desks grading papers. The building is older but it holds up okay for what we need. We focus on getting through the syllabus and making sure the older students are ready for their exams. There is always some repair work going on or a garden patch that needs weeding. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise in the heat, but we get by. Parents drop their kids off on their way to work, and there is a lot of chatter at the gate in the afternoons. It is not a fancy place, just a school where people come to learn and move on to whatever is next. We see a lot of faces come and go over the years. The canteen has its busy moments too. It is just a regular part of life here in this part of town. We keep the gates open and the lights on until the last person leaves in the evening.
