Muthusamy Store

Muthusamy Store is just a regular shop on Plot No. 28 in Velampalayam. We are quite close to Periyar Colony, so we get a lot of people walking over from there. It’s a basic setup with shelves lining the walls and a wooden counter where I sit most of the day. We sell the things people need every day—daal, rice, sugar, and some snacks for the kids. It’s nothing like those big malls you see in the city. Here, we know most of our customers by their names and what they usually buy. Sometimes people come in just to chat for a bit while they wait for their grain to be weighed out. The shop can get a bit dusty because the road outside is busy, but we do our best to keep things tidy. We don’t have fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just a place to get your groceries and go. In the evenings, it gets pretty crowded when everyone is coming back from work. I usually have my son helping me out during those hours. We’ve been in this same spot for quite a few years now. The building is old and the paint is peeling in some places, but it serves its purpose. We don't do home delivery or anything like that; people just come and pick up what they want. It’s a simple life running a small store in a neighborhood like this. We are just here to help the local folks.
