Melody Fashions

We've been running Melody Fashions for a while now down here at 2/813, Madheswaran Nagar. Most people in Ganapathipalayam know where we are. It’s right near Veerapandi. We handle a lot of garment work every day. It gets busy in the mornings when the fabric rolls come in. Our workshop isn't fancy or anything, just a regular place with sewing machines and cutting tables. Sometimes the power goes out for an hour, and we just sit outside and talk until it comes back. My brother helps with the packing and the neighbors often stop by to check on what new styles we're making. We don't have a big office or a receptionist. If you call, you're usually talking to me or one of the tailors. We mostly focus on getting the stitching right and making sure the orders are ready on time. The dust from the fabric gets everywhere, but that's just how it is in this line of work. We started small and stayed that way because it's easier to manage. Our address is easy to find if you're coming from the main road. We don't do much advertising, mostly word of mouth around the town. People know us for being steady. It’s a lot of work, keeping track of threads and needles and different sizes, but we get it done. The rainy season makes the yard a bit muddy, but we keep the clothes dry inside. That's pretty much us.
