Lgk Vegetable Fruits Private Limited is over in Peelamedu, Coimbatore. We are on the second floor of the RR Embassy building on Nava India Road, specifically units 144 and 145. Our work starts very early in the morning, often around 4 AM. That is when the trucks arrive from the farms with the fresh vegetables and fruits. Dealing with fresh produce is stressful because you are always racing against time. If the tomatoes sit too long in the heat, they go soft, and then nobody wants them. We spend our mornings sorting through crates and getting things ready to go out to the local markets. The office is a bit of a mess with empty crates and paperwork everywhere. We have to shout a lot to be heard over the noise of the traffic on Nava India Road. The elevator in this building breaks down sometimes, so we end up carrying heavy boxes of potatoes or onions up the stairs, which is exhausting. We aren't a corporate setup with meetings and fancy presentations. We are just people who know a lot about vegetables. We work with a group of farmers we have known for years. It’s a lot of physical labor and we go home tired every day, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep moving the crates and checking the stock.
