Kovai Cards

We are located at 379, Shankar Nivas, on the first floor. This is right on 7th Street, Cross Cut Road in Gandhipuram. If you’ve been to Coimbatore, you know how crowded Cross Cut Road is. It’s always a struggle to find parking, so most people just walk over. Kovai Cards is up a flight of stairs that are a bit narrow. Once you’re inside, the room is filled with shelves of different card samples. Some are dusty because they’ve been there for years. We spend the day helping people pick out designs for weddings or functions. It can be a bit stressful when families can't agree on a color. We just stand back and let them figure it out. The fans hum overhead but they don't do much against the Coimbatore humidity. Our staff is mostly local people who know the area well. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over time. The shop across from us has changed hands three times, but we’re still here. Opposite Kaadki Bhavan is a good landmark for people to find us. We don't do much advertising. People just hear about us from their relatives. It’s a basic business. We take the orders, send them to the back, and wait for the prints to come in. There’s always a bit of a mess on the main table with paper samples and ink pens. Anyway, we keep things simple and just keep the shop open for whoever needs some work.
