Herbe Cure

If you find yourself on 2nd Street in the Navaindia area, you will likely see our shop at No 30 Hindustan Avenue. We have been part of the Peelamedu community for a long time. The shop itself is quite small and the air always carries the heavy scent of dried herbs and roots. Some of our visitors say it reminds them of their grandmother's house, which is a nice thought. We don't have any flashy displays or neon signs. Instead, we have wooden shelves that we built ourselves to hold all the various jars and packets. It gets a little dusty because of all the natural products, but we try to sweep it out every evening before we lock up. There are only three of us working here, so we handle everything from unloading the trucks to talking with the people who walk in off the street. We don't use any complicated systems. Most of our records are kept in a large green ledger that sits on the counter. Peelamedu is a lively place to be, and we enjoy seeing the familiar faces of our neighbors every day. Sometimes the labels on our products aren't perfectly straight because we put them on by hand while we're chatting. We aren't trying to be a big chain store or anything like that. We just want to keep the shelves stocked with the things people come looking for. It’s a simple way to spend the day and we appreciate the quiet pace of the neighborhood.
