You can find our workshop at 1, Sridevi Nagar, over in Ganapathy. It’s not a big fancy factory, just a regular engineering spot where we fix things and build parts. We have a few lathes and some welding equipment scattered around the shop floor. There’s usually some grease on the floor and a lot of metal shavings near the machines. We start the day by cleaning up a bit and then getting straight into whatever jobs came in the day before. It’s a noisy place with the sound of grinding and metal hitting metal. We don’t have a secretary or a waiting room; if you need us, you just walk into the shop and shout over the noise. We’ve been in this neighborhood for years, so most of the local businesses know us. We spend a lot of time looking at blueprints or just figuring out how to make a part fit. It’s the kind of place where your hands are always dirty. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that on the walls. We just want to get the engineering right so the machines work like they’re supposed to. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall, eaten while sitting on a workbench. It’s a basic, honest way to earn a living. We take things one job at a time and don't worry too much about being the biggest shop in town. It’s just a group of us working hard at Sridevi Nagar every day to keep the local machinery running.
