Gowtham Cards

Our shop, Gowtham Cards, is situated at No. 166 in the V. G. Centre. We are up on the first floor on 9th Street, which is right in the middle of the busy Cross Cut Road area. If you look across the street, you will see Sri Kumaran Thanga Maligai. That is a huge landmark in Gandhipuram, so we usually tell people to look for the jewelry store first. Being on the first floor means we are a bit away from the noise of the street, but we still hear the horns and the crowds all day long. We do a lot of printing here, mostly wedding invitations and visiting cards. The place is often covered in paper scraps and different types of cardstock. We have a few old machines that have been with us for a long time, and they still work better than the new ones sometimes. It is a family-run kind of setup. We do not have a formal reception or anything, just a counter where we talk to people about what they want printed. It gets very busy during the wedding season, and we often stay late to make sure the dates and names are all correct on the invites. Gandhipuram is a hectic place to work, but we are used to it by now. We just focus on the paper and the ink and try to keep things moving. It is a solid, honest job and we like being here.
