We’ve been here in Kalapatti for a good while now. Our place is tucked away in Kuttai Thottam, right at SF No. 205/102. It’s a typical setup for a tool shop. Most days start early before the sun gets too high because once it hits the metal roof, it warms up fast inside. You’ll hear the lathes running and the sound of metal being worked on from the street. It’s not a fancy place with a big lobby or anything like that. Just a workshop where we spend our time on various tooling jobs. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, but we just keep at it. Most of the guys have been working these machines for years, so they know the sounds each one makes when it’s running right. We usually have tea around eleven o'clock. The neighborhood is mostly other small shops and some houses nearby. Finding us can be a bit tricky if you aren't familiar with the interior roads of Kalapatti, but usually, people just ask around for Kuttai Thottam. We keep the floor as clean as you can expect for a place that works with oil and metal shavings. There’s always a pile of scrap in the corner waiting to be moved out. It is just basic, honest work happening every day here. We don't spend much time on computers, mostly just focusing on what's on the workbench in front of us.
