Our office at 31, 1St Street in Kasthuribai Gandhi Nagar isn't hard to find if you know the Uppilipalayam area. Explore Overseas is tucked away on a street that gets quite a bit of shade from the old trees. It’s a small place where we handle a lot of paperwork and phone calls. Most of the time, the fan is clicking overhead and there are stacks of forms on every flat surface. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy. It’s just a room with a few chairs and a desk that has seen better days. People come in looking for help with their travel plans or papers for going abroad. We spend hours checking details and making sure names are spelled right. It can get a bit stressful when deadlines are close, but we usually just put on some music and keep going. The neighbors are mostly families, so it stays pretty peaceful except when the school bus drops off the kids down the road. We drink a lot of coffee to stay sharp. Sometimes the internet is slow and we have to wait for pages to load, which gives us time to chat with whoever is waiting in the lobby. We aren't trying to be the biggest outfit in town, just a place that does the job without making a fuss.
