The road out here to Chettipalayam can get pretty bumpy if you’re coming from the main part of town. Our place is tucked away near the Sidco Post, and if you aren’t paying attention, you’ll drive right past the gate because the number 1/601 isn't as big as it should be. It’s an industrial kind of area, so there is always some noise from the neighbors or the sound of loading trucks. A lot of time is spent just moving things around the floor and making sure the inventory is where it needs to be. It’s a practical space, nothing more. The floor is concrete and stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the roof. Usually, we take our breaks when the mail arrives at the post office nearby. It’s a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, whether it’s answering the phone or hauling boxes. No big lobby or receptionist exists; you just walk in and find whoever is around. Sometimes the power flickers when the weather gets bad, but that’s just how it goes in this part of the outskirts. A few chairs are available for visitors, though they aren’t the most comfortable things in the world. It’s just a regular workplace where we keep our heads down and try to stay organized day after day without too much fuss.
