Digital Magic

Down on Maniyakaran Street, right behind the Corporation Girls Higher Secondary School, you will find Digital Magic. We are at number 30. It’s a bit of a quiet spot compared to the main roads in Ramanathapuram, which is nice for getting work done. You can usually hear the school bell or the kids playing during recess while we are sitting at the desks inside. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about where we stack the supplies. We have been here for some time now. The building is older, but it stays cool enough in the afternoons. Most of the people who come in know exactly where we are because of the school landmark. We have a small sign out front, though it’s a bit faded from the sun. Inside, the floor is tiled and we have a few computers lined up against the wall. It’s a simple setup. There is usually a pot of tea nearby and some scraps of paper with measurements written on them. We don’t go in for anything flashy. We just open the shop in the morning and stay until the work is finished for the day. It’s a practical space. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow street, but we manage to get things unloaded. Being in Ramanathapuram feels like being part of a real community. We just keep our heads down and do the work, making sure we don't miss any of the details on the jobs we take.
