Avantika

Avantika is located at New No. 141 on Shiva Subramaniam Road. R. S. Puram is a nice area, and we like being here. The shop is on a street that gets a fair amount of foot traffic. We’ve been here for several years. It started as a small idea and just grew into this. We sell various items, mostly things people need for their homes or daily lives. It’s a clean shop, though we do get cluttered when new stock arrives on Tuesdays. I usually handle the counter while my younger brother manages the storage at the back. We don't have a website or anything like that, just the physical shop. People in R. S. Puram know us by now. We spend most of our time organizing the shelves or chatting with the regulars who drop by for a quick look. The building is an older one, so we have to fix the plumbing every now and then. It’s just part of owning a place. We try to keep things simple. No fancy displays, just the products out where people can see them. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour in the afternoon, so we just sit outside on the steps. It’s a relaxed atmosphere most days. We are just here doing our thing, trying to keep the business going and being part of the neighborhood. It’s not a big corporate store, just our family shop where we try to be helpful.
