Our place is on Perumal Koil Street in Ramanathapuram, right at number 326. It is an old building and you can usually smell the herbs and oils from the moment you walk through the front door. We have been doing this for a long time, dealing with traditional medicines and helping people find what they need for their health. The shelves are packed with bottles and jars, and sometimes it takes a minute to find the exact one because we have so many different preparations. It is a quiet street for the most part, though it gets a bit busier in the evenings when people are coming home from work. We don't have any flashy signs or big advertisements outside. People usually find us by word of mouth or because their families have been coming here for generations. The counter is usually dusty by the end of the day from all the dry ingredients we handle. Our staff knows most of the regular customers by name. We spend a lot of time talking to folks about their aches and pains and seeing what might help them out. It’s a slow pace of life here compared to the big malls. We just open up the shop in the morning, sweep the front step, and wait for the first person to come in. It’s a simple way to run a business and we don't feel the need to change how we do things.
