Arathana Hospital

If you are looking for us, we are right across from the N.M. Petrol Bunk. You can usually smell the fumes from the station when the wind blows the right way. Arathana Hospital has been a part of this neighborhood for years. It is a big building with a lot of corridors that seem to go on forever. We have nurses running back and forth and the sound of trolleys clicking on the floor tiles. It’s not the quietest place, but hospitals rarely are. Patients come in for all sorts of things, from fevers to more serious stuff that requires staying overnight. We have a small canteen nearby where the tea is actually pretty decent. The lobby has those big heavy doors that thud when they close. We spend a lot of time updating charts and checking on people in the wards. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in with a loud hum. It’s a bit chaotic during the day when the OPD is full of people waiting for their turn. We try to keep things organized with clipboards and hand-written notes, though things still get messy sometimes. The parking out front is usually a mess because of the petrol bunk traffic, but people manage to find a spot. It’s just a regular local hospital doing what it can for the people who live nearby.
