Kk Residency

Payyanur is a quiet enough place most of the time, and our spot here at Kk Residency in Karuvachery is tucked away from the main rush. We spend a lot of our days just keeping the place tidy for whoever might be coming through. The weather in Kannur can be quite unpredictable, especially when the monsoon hits and everything gets damp. We spend a lot of time checking the rooms and making sure the fans are working. It’s a simple building, not one of those big modern hotels you see in the cities. We have some trees around the property that provide a bit of shade, which is nice when it gets humid. Sometimes the local monkeys come by and cause a bit of trouble on the roof, but that’s just part of living in this part of Kerala. We don't have a big staff, so we end up doing a bit of everything ourselves, from fixing a leaky tap to answering the door late at night. The neighborhood is mostly families and small shops, so it’s a peaceful area to be in. We’ve seen a lot of different people stay here over the years, and we just try to make sure they have a place to sleep that isn’t too noisy. It’s not a complicated life, just the daily routine of running a small residency and keeping up with the maintenance while the rain falls outside.
