If you’re looking for us, we’re located over at Pethuel Vengnuam South in New Lamka. Thingtangpa Farmer Producer Company Limited is run out of the space at 204/Ne, which belongs to P. Vumzathang. We’re deep in Churachandpur, and this is where we handle all our farming business. It’s a local operation through and through. We’re just a bunch of farmers from the area who decided it was time to organize ourselves a bit better. The office is a simple place, nothing flashy, just enough room for a desk and some chairs to sit and talk about the crops. Living in this part of Manipur means we have to be pretty self-reliant. We grow what we can and help each other out when the harvest comes. It’s a lot of physical labor, but that’s how it’s always been for us. We don’t have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure our farms stay productive and that our families are taken care of. Most people in New Lamka know us or have seen us around. We’re usually wearing our work clothes and covered in a bit of dust. It’s honest work. We spend our mornings in the fields and our afternoons dealing with the company side of things at the house in Vengnuam South. It works for us and keeps the community going. We just take it as it comes and do our best.
