Sri Venkateswara Rice Stores is right at 34/78 in Bhagyalakshmi Peta. We are quite close to Pavani Home Needs and Industries, which is a good landmark for people trying to find us. The shop has been here for a while, and the neighborhood knows us well. It is not a very tidy place, as there are always loose grains on the floor and empty sacks piled in the corner. We keep the different rice varieties in big plastic bins so people can see what they are getting. The walls are a bit yellowed from the age of the building, but the roof doesn't leak, so that is the main thing. We open up early in the morning when it is still a bit cool. Most of the day is spent weighing out kilos of rice for the local families. We use an old scale that still works perfectly fine. The noise from the industries nearby is always in the background, but we don't notice it much anymore. Sometimes people stop by just to talk for a few minutes before moving on with their day.
