Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Dhall Mill

We are located at 48/56/23 on Pandille Palle Road in Mokshagundam. Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Dhall Mill has been a part of this area for a long time. When the machines are running, you can hear them from the street, a steady sort of thumping sound. It gets pretty dusty inside with all the grain moving around, so we’re always sweeping up. The air smells like raw lentils and earth most of the time. We work with a lot of local folks who bring their crops by. The office is just a small room off to the side with a heavy wooden desk and some old ledgers. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially when the sun hits the corrugated roof. We usually have a few bags stacked up near the entrance waiting to be picked up. There’s no big sign or anything, just the address and the sound of work being done. It’s a lot of physical labor, moving sacks and keeping the equipment greased. We’ve had the same crew for years, and we all just know what needs to happen. Sometimes the truck arrivals get delayed because of the road conditions, but we just wait it out. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from dawn until the sun goes down. We don’t really have time for anything fancy. We just focus on the mill and the people who rely on us for their processing every season.
