Sri Gurunath Pipes & Ceramics

Our place is located at 455 on Bangalore Road. It’s near where B D Road cuts across. It’s a good spot because people pass by on their way in and out of town. We carry pipes and a lot of ceramic items like tiles and bathroom fixtures. The showroom isn't huge so we have to stack things pretty high. You have to be careful walking through the aisles sometimes. We've had this shop for a long time. My uncle used to run it before I took over. We see a lot of people who are building their first homes. They come in looking at tiles for hours trying to decide on a color. We try to be patient with them. It’s a big decision after all. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late because of the traffic on Bangalore Road. It can be a real headache. We just deal with it as it comes. We aren't a corporate chain or anything like that. It’s just us and a couple of helpers who move the heavy boxes. We use a lot of handwritten receipts because it’s faster than the computer sometimes. The shop gets a bit chilly in the winter mornings before the sun hits the front windows. We usually have some tea and wait for the first customer. It’s a steady life and we like the people we meet every day.
