S L V Riggers is our small outfit based at 4-8-362 on Maruthi Road. We are right in the heart of Chikkajajur. It’s a modest place, mostly a yard with some heavy equipment and a small room where we keep the records. We’ve been doing rigging work around here for quite a while. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure things are tied down right. My uncle started this place and I’ve been helping out since I was a kid. We don't have a big website or a bunch of fancy advertisements. Most people just find us by word of mouth or by seeing our trucks on the road. The work is hard and it gets very hot out in the yard during the afternoon. We usually have grease on our hands and dust on our clothes by noon. It’s not a clean job, but it’s honest work. Sometimes a piece of equipment breaks down and we have to spend the whole day fixing it instead of working. That’s just part of the life. We know most of the people on Maruthi Road. It’s a tight community here. We aren't looking to become some huge international company. We just want to keep the equipment running and help the folks who need things moved. It’s simple work for us, even if it looks complicated to others. Most days we are just glad to get through the list of jobs.
