Prajetha Spices

If you go down Narasing Rao Road in Basavanahalli, you'll find us. Prajetha Spices is located right there in Chikmanglore. It’s a beautiful part of the world, though we mostly see the inside of our warehouse and the bags of spices. The smell is the first thing you notice when you walk in—pepper, cardamom, and all sorts of other things. We get the spices from the local area and process them a bit before they go out. It’s hard work, especially when it’s harvest season and everything comes in at once. Our building on Narasing Rao Road is pretty basic. We have some grinders and some scales, and a lot of floor space for drying and sorting. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. Prajetha Spices is just a group of us who know a lot about what makes a good spice. We spend a lot of time talking to the growers and making sure the spices are what they should be. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the rains, which makes loading the trucks a bit of a chore. Still, we wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Basavanahalli is home for most of us. We keep our records in simple books and try to stay on top of the orders. It’s a busy life but it feels good to work with things you can grow and smell. We just keep doing what we've always done.
