Idsg Govt College

Our college is out in the Beekanahalli Rural area of Chickmagaluru. We are situated on KM Road, which is a main route through this part of the country. Being a government college, we have a lot of students who come from the coffee estates and smaller villages nearby. The campus is quite spread out and there is a lot of greenery around us. It’s a peaceful place to work, though it can get a bit lonely being away from the main town center. The buildings are old and have that typical government look to them, with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors. We spend a lot of time on administrative stuff because there are so many rules to follow. The students come here because it is affordable and it gives them a chance to get a degree without leaving home. You'll see them sitting under the trees during their breaks or walking along the road to catch the bus. We don't have much in the way of modern luxuries, but we have enough desks and books to get by. The staff rooms are usually full of stacks of paper and old files. It feels like a very traditional place where things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We just keep up with the university schedule and make sure the exams are conducted properly. It is a honest, basic way of providing education to the local youth.
