Himagiri Spices

Himagiri Spices is tucked away in Salamma Colony, right near the Shenaswara Temple in Chickmagalur District. Being so close to the temple means we hear the bells and the people passing by all day long. It’s a nice atmosphere to work in, honestly. We deal with spices that come from around this district, and it’s a lot of work getting everything sorted and ready. Our space isn't huge, just enough room for the storage and a bit of processing. It gets pretty busy around here during the harvest seasons. We aren't a big corporation with a board of directors. We’re just local people who know a bit about the spice trade. Most of our days are spent checking the quality of what comes in and making sure it stays dry. Chickmagalur weather can be a bit unpredictable, so we’re always keeping an eye on the rain. We don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People find us because they live nearby or they’ve heard we’re near the temple. It’s honest work, and it keeps us connected to the land around here. Sometimes the bags are heavy and the days are long, but we like what we do. It’s simple, really. We just take the spices, pack them up, and get them to the people who need them. No frills, just regular daily business in the colony with the smell of cloves and cardamom.
