Bharat Ceramic Works

Bharat Ceramic Works is located in Chirkunda, in the Dhandab district. Chirkunda has always been known for this kind of work, so we fit right in with the other shops around here. Our workshop is an old-style building that has seen many years of use. Inside, you will find kilns and heaps of raw clay waiting to be shaped into something. It is a very hands-on process and it gets quite warm near the ovens when they are firing. We have workers who have been with us for decades, and they know the ceramics business better than anyone else. It is a bit messy with the clay and the water, but that is just how it is. We don't have any glossy brochures or a fancy website to show off. Most people find us because they have heard about us through word of mouth or they see our sign on the way through town. The Dhandab area has a long history with this trade, and we are just another part of that. We make a variety of ceramic items, mostly for industrial use. The office is just a corner of the main building where we keep our ledgers and some samples. It is a quiet life for the most part, except for when we are loading a big order onto a truck. We like the way things come out of the kiln. There is something satisfying about seeing the raw earth turn into something hard and useful.
