Spencer Road in Chikkamagaluru is a quiet spot, especially near Matru Chaya where we operate. People know the area for its greenery, and we see that every morning when we open up. It’s not a huge operation, just a group of us keeping things going at Mountain Ridge Resorts. We spend a lot of time making sure the rooms are tidy and the grounds don't get too overgrown after the rains. Chikkamagaluru weather can be tricky, so there's always something to fix or paint. Usually, we're just checking the registers or talking to the folks who stop by for a room. The hills around here are nice to look at, but they keep us busy with all the upkeep. Sometimes the mist gets really thick on Spencer Road, and it's hard to see the gate. We’ve been here for a while now, and the neighbors know us. It’s mostly just making sure the guests have what they need and the place stays clean. We don't have fancy uniforms or anything, just plain clothes and a lot of work to do. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to scramble. That's just how it is in Kote. We like the pace here, even when it gets a bit hectic with a full house. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between the kitchen and the guest areas. Every day feels a bit different depending on who walks through the door.
