My place is over at No 93 on New Street, right in the middle of Parrys, Chennai. It is a really busy part of town, especially being so close to Mannady. The streets are always crowded with people moving goods and bikes everywhere, so getting here can be a bit of a struggle if you are driving. Most people just walk or take a rickshaw. I go by Vinod Kumar S, and I have been running things from this little spot for years. The office is small and tucked away, which I actually prefer because it keeps the noise out. It is mostly just me and a few helpers. We spend our days dealing with the usual daily grind—checking lists, answering the phone, and filing things away. It is not a fancy office with glass walls or anything. It is just a room with old wooden desks and some fans that work pretty well in the Chennai heat. I like the fact that it is a local operation. We know the tea seller around the corner and the other shop owners on New Street. Things can get a bit disorganized when we have a lot of work coming in at once, but we always find what we are looking for eventually. I do not believe in making things more complicated than they need to be. If you have a question, you just ask. We do what we can with the time we have and then head home.
