Our place is out on Rajiv Gandhi Salai in Mettukuppam, specifically at No. 3/170. We are quite close to the Fortune Hotel, which makes it easier for people to find us in the Okkiyam Thoraipakkam area. It’s a busy stretch of road with plenty of cars and bikes zooming past all day long. We mostly sit behind the counter working on cracked screens or phones that won't charge anymore. The shop isn't very large, but we have all the small tools needed for mobile work. You will see us under the bright desk lamps peering into the guts of a smartphone. It takes a lot of patience and steady hands. People bring in all sorts of models, some very old and some brand new. We try to be quick because everyone feels lost without their phone these days. The dust from the road can be a bit of a problem, so we are always cleaning the glass counters. We keep a stock of batteries and chargers too. It’s a regular shop where you can just walk in and talk to us about what is wrong with your device. We don’t use any complicated talk, just plain explanations of what needs fixing. Being near the hotel means we sometimes get travelers who dropped their phones. We stay open throughout the day, watching the traffic on Rajiv Gandhi Salai while we work on the circuits.
