Under The Tree Foundation

Our place is tucked away in Alwarpet on Sriman Srinivasan Road. It’s Unit 3, and you might get confused with the old and new numbers on the gate, but once you find number 48, you’re in the right spot. It’s a quiet part of Chennai compared to the main roads, though the morning traffic still makes some noise. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some chairs and a few old cupboards full of files. We named it Under The Tree because we like the idea of people gathering in a simple way, like how things used to be. Most of our mornings involve sorting through mail or talking to people who drop by for help. We drink a lot of coffee here, which is typical for this part of town. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the floor squeaks a bit when you walk near the back window. We aren't trying to be some big, polished organization. We just do our work day by day. Sometimes the internet goes out and we have to wait around, but we just use that time to catch up on paperwork. It feels more like a home than an office most of the time. People from the neighborhood know us by name, and we like keeping it that way. It’s just us, sitting in Alwarpet, trying to get things done.
