Tuymai Action Lab Foundation

We are based in Kodambakkam at 8/9 Karnan Street. It’s a bit of a hidden spot if you don’t know the area well. The building is an older one and it has that classic Chennai feel to it. We work out of a few rooms that we’ve set up with basic furniture. It’s not a big lab like the name might make some people think. It’s really just a place where we sit down and figure out how to get things done. We have a lot of notebooks and charts pinned to the walls. The fans on the ceiling are always going because it gets quite stuffy in the afternoons. Karnan Street is usually pretty quiet, which is a nice break from the noise of the main roads in Kodambakkam. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It’s more like a group of people working together in a house. We make our own coffee and sometimes the neighbor’s cat wanders in through the back door. It’s an honest, simple place. We don’t spend money on decorations or fancy lighting. Most of our day is spent on the phone or writing up reports. We’ve been here for a while and we like the local vibe of the neighborhood. It’s just a regular workspace where we try to stay busy and handle the foundation’s tasks every day. It suits us fine.
