Thinai Ecological Foundation

Our place is at Old No 22, right on 14th Street in V Block of Anna Nagar. It’s a pretty well-known part of Chennai, so it’s easy for people to find us. We spend a lot of our time thinking about the plants and the local environment around here. It's getting so crowded in the city, so we try to focus on the green bits that are left. We’re not experts with fancy degrees or anything, just people who like being outside and working with the earth. The office is just a regular house, really. We have some plants growing out front and a lot of books inside about local trees and birds. Sometimes the traffic on the main road is loud, but it’s quiet enough back here on our street. We mostly talk to people about how they can grow a bit of their own food or take care of the trees on their block. It’s not a big operation. We just sit around and plan out what we can do next. It’s slow work, and sometimes things don’t grow the way we expected, but that’s just nature. We’ve been in this spot for a good while and the neighbors are used to us by now. We just want to keep things green in 600040. There isn't much more to tell. It’s just us doing our bit for the neighborhood birds and trees.
