We are based in the Guna Building on Anna Salai. The address can be a bit confusing because it has a new number, 443, and an old number, 304-305, but most people in Chennai just know the building. Being on Anna Salai means we are right in the middle of all the noise and traffic that comes with one of the city's biggest roads. Bgr Energy Systems Ltd. is a bit more of a formal office environment than a small shop, but it still has that busy, slightly messy feel of a place where people are actually working. There are desks piled with blueprints, technical drawings, and stacks of reports. We deal with energy systems, so there’s a lot of engineering talk going on in the hallways. The air conditioning is usually running full blast to keep the Chennai heat out, which makes it a decent place to spend the day. We spend a lot of time in meetings or on the phone with sites that are far away from the city. It’s not all high-level strategy; a lot of it is just figuring out why a certain part hasn't arrived or checking the math on a project. We eat our lunch at our desks or go out to one of the little shops nearby. The Guna Building is an older structure, so it has its quirks, like the elevators taking their time. But it’s a good central spot for us to keep things running.
