If you look for No: 9/21 on Landons Road in Kilpauk, you’ll find us on the second floor of Saroja Illam. It’s a residential-looking building, so it doesn’t feel like a typical workplace. Srinivasan Associates Private Limited has been in this spot for several years now. Climbing the stairs to the second floor is our daily exercise. The office has a lot of natural light coming through the windows, which is nice because we spend a lot of time reading small print. Kilpauk is a busy area, but once you get inside the building, it’s relatively quiet. We have a couple of computers, but we still rely heavily on paper records kept in green folders. There’s a small pantry area where we make our own coffee, and it usually smells like roasted beans around ten in the morning. We don’t have a receptionist sitting at the front. Usually, whoever is closest to the door just gets up to see who it is. It’s a casual environment. We talk about local news and the traffic on Landons Road while we work. The space is a bit cramped because we have so many files, but we manage to find our way around. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. We just show up, do the work, and go home when the sun goes down.
