Sayara Metal Alloy

Sayara Metal Alloy is located at Plot No.-32 in the Vyasarpadi Co-Op Industrial Estate. This part of Chennai is pretty industrial, so there’s always the sound of machinery and hammers in the distance. Our plot is basically a big shed where we handle all sorts of metal alloys. It gets very hot under the tin roof, especially in the summer months, but we have some big fans that help a little bit. There is usually a layer of metal dust on everything, and our clothes usually have a few grease stains by lunchtime. We don't have a reception area or anything like that. If you come by, you just walk into the main space and find one of us. We spend a lot of time sorting through different types of metal and making sure the weights are right. The Vyasarpadi estate is a busy place with a lot of small shops like ours. We all kind of know each other. Sometimes the roads inside the estate get flooded when it rains hard, and that makes moving the heavy stuff quite a challenge. We just work through it. It is honest work and it’s what we know how to do. We don't spend money on fancy advertisements; we just rely on the fact that we’ve been here at Plot 32 for a long time. It’s a gritty job, but someone has to do it, and we’re the ones here every day.
