P S Subramanian Associates

You can find us in Nungambakkam, right at the Sterling Road Junction. The address is a bit confusing because it’s New No 8 but used to be Old No 7/1 on Avenue Road. We are directly opposite the Ganpat Hotel, which is what we usually tell people when they get lost. P S Subramanian Associates has a long history in this spot. The office has that old-school feel to it, with heavy wooden desks and cabinets full of documents from decades ago. It’s a very busy intersection, so there’s a constant sound of horns and engines outside. We mostly handle the technical side of things, making sure buildings are solid and meet all the codes. We spend a lot of time on the phone with structural engineers and site supervisors. It’s a lot of coordination and checking details. Clients come in and we sit around a big table that has seen better days. We don't use a lot of fancy corporate talk. We just show you the drawings and explain how the construction will go. Working in this part of town is great because everything is close by, but the traffic can be a nightmare if we have to get to a site across the city. We usually have our lunch together in the small break area, talking about everything except work for a few minutes. It’s just a regular office doing regular, honest work for anyone who walks through the door.
