Nichani Health Centre

You can find the Nichani Health Centre at 10 Arthoon Road in Royapuram. This is an old part of North Chennai, and you can feel the history in the streets around here. The road is often crowded with vendors and people going about their business near the harbor area. Our health centre is a local fixture, and the building has been here for a long time. It has that old-fashioned look, with some chipped paint here and there and sturdy wooden doors. We don't have the latest designer furniture, but we have everything needed to take care of people. The waiting area is usually full of locals chatting with each other while they wait to see the doctor. It can get quite loud with all the talking and the sounds of the street coming through the windows. The nurses are busy, and the doctors have been seeing some of these families for generations. We don't do anything for show; it is just about getting the work done and making sure everyone gets seen. Sometimes we run out of chairs and people have to stand for a bit, but nobody seems to mind much. We are just part of the fabric of Royapuram. When the sun sets and the sea breeze kicks in, we start wrapping things up for the day. It’s a busy, noisy, and very real place to work.
