M/S.A1 Paper Cups

Our place is tucked away on Durai Pluai Street in Sakthi Nagar. If you know Arumbakkam, you know it can get pretty crowded around here with all the traffic and people. We run A1 Paper Cups out of a modest space at number seventeen. It’s nothing fancy to look at from the outside, just a door and the sound of the machines running inside. We started this because we saw everyone needed cups that didn’t fall apart the moment you poured hot tea into them. It sounds like a small thing, but getting the paper weight and the lining right took some trial and error in the beginning. We spent many late nights figuring out why the rims weren't curling properly. Now, the machines hum along pretty steadily most days. We get our raw materials delivered, which can be a bit of a squeeze for the trucks on this narrow street, but we manage. Usually, it's just us and a handful of workers making sure the counts are right and the packaging is sturdy. Sometimes the weather makes the paper go a bit soft, so we have to watch the storage closely. People come by to pick up orders for local tea stalls or small offices nearby. We like being part of the local community here in Sakthi Nagar. It’s hard work and the margins are tight, but seeing our cups being used at the corner stall makes it feel real. It keeps us going.
