Metro Lapz

Metro Lapz is located at No. 72 in Annanagar. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you’re familiar with the neighborhood. The shop isn't very large, so it gets crowded quickly once a few people walk in at the same time. There are shelves lined with old parts and boxes stacked in the corners. Most of the time, the counters are covered in tiny screws and pieces of hardware that we’ve taken apart. It’s the kind of place where you have to be careful where you step because there might be a power cable running across the floor. We spend the day sitting on stools, hunched over workbenches with various tools in hand. Annanagar is always buzzing with activity, so there is a constant background noise of cars and people outside our door. Sometimes it’s hard to hear the phone ring over the sound of the street. We don’t have a fancy waiting room with a TV or anything like that. People usually just drop their things off and come back later when we’re done. The lighting is okay, but we use extra lamps on the tables to see the small details. It’s a simple routine of taking things apart, seeing what’s wrong, and putting them back together. We keep our own hours mostly, and as long as the work gets done, we’re happy. It’s just a local shop doing what needs to be done for the people nearby.
