MERIT ELECTRICAL & INSTUMENTS

We’ve set up our shop at Ag-1 in the Kamalam Apartments over in Kolathur. It’s a bit unusual being in an apartment building, but it works for us. We handle electrical and instrument work from this ground-floor unit. Being in Kolathur is convenient because it’s a lively area with plenty of things nearby. The space is a bit cramped because we have to store a lot of electrical components and tools, but we make it work. Often, the front room is full of boxes waiting to be sent out to sites. We’ve been running Merit from this spot for a while now. Most of our neighbors are just families living their lives, so we try not to make too much noise with the tools. Sometimes the kids from the apartments play out front while we’re trying to load the van. It feels more like a home-grown business than a big company, which suits us just fine. We don't have any fancy signs or a big lobby. If you come to the door, you'll probably hear us talking about a circuit layout or an instrument calibration. It’s a practical setup and it keeps our overheads low, which is important for a small team like ours. We just take things one day at a time and keep the tools ready.
