Lokakshaypatram Foundation

Lokakshaypatram Foundation is another one of the groups working out of No 5 Lakshmi Nivas in Dr Subbarayan Nagar. We are based in Kodambakkam, which is a busy part of Chennai with a lot of history. Our office is tucked away in this residential building, and it feels more like a home than a workplace sometimes. We have a small team here, and we spend our hours organizing things and making sure we are reaching the people who need us. It is a lot of logistics and planning, mostly done at a slow and steady pace. We don't have a big budget for decorations, so the walls are mostly covered with calendars and notes we've scribbled to ourselves. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed, though we do get busy when there is a project on the go. We find that being in a house like Lakshmi Nivas makes people feel more comfortable when they come to talk to us. They don't feel like they are walking into some big corporate tower. We just sit around the table and figure things out together. The traffic in Kodambakkam can be a real headache, but once you get inside our gate, it is a bit more peaceful. We are just trying to do our part from this little corner of the city, keeping things honest and moving forward as best as we can every single day.
