Limat Social Welfare Organisation

Our office is located at NO.21B on the 5th Cross Street in the South Phase of the Thiru Vi Ka Industrial Estate. Being in Guindy means we are surrounded by factories and workshops. It’s a noisy part of town, with trucks moving in and out all day long. We set up our social welfare organisation here because this is where the workers are. We aren't sitting in a quiet office with air conditioning all the time. Most of the time, we are out on the shop floors or meeting families in the nearby blocks. Our space is small and filled with files and old chairs. We don't spend much on decor because the money is better used elsewhere. It’s a practical setup for practical work. We see a lot of people who are just trying to get by, and we try to help them navigate things. It’s not a glamorous job. We deal with a lot of paperwork and government forms. Sometimes we get frustrated with how slow things move, but we keep at it. The industrial estate has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. We are just a few regular people trying to make the day a bit easier for our neighbors in Guindy. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning till night.
