Young India Films

Young India Films is based out of 1F, Lakshmi Bhawan, which is located at 432 Mount Road in Chennai. Some of the older locals still call it number 609, but the address has been updated since then. Being on Mount Road means we are right in the heart of the city’s activity. It’s a very old and famous road, and Lakshmi Bhawan has its own history too. Our office is on the first floor. It’s not a high-tech studio with flashing lights; it’s mostly desks, shelves of old records, and various film-related materials we’ve collected. We’ve been here for quite some time, watching Chennai grow and change around us. The humid weather is something we’ve just learned to live with, though the fans are always spinning in the office. We don't really go for fancy presentations. Most of the time, we are just busy with the logistics of film distribution or whatever projects are currently on the table. It’s a small team, and we all know our roles. We might not have the newest furniture, but the office feels comfortable and lived-in. People who visit usually comment on the old-school vibe of the building. We just focus on our work and try to keep up with the changes in the film world. It’s a busy life on Mount Road, but we wouldn’t want to be anywhere else because this place feels like home to us.
