T. P. R. Ceramics

T. P. R. Ceramics is located at No. 241/25 Jawaharlal Nehru Salai in Koyembedu. If you know that area, you know how much traffic there is. It’s always moving, day and night. Our shop is right in the middle of all that action. We have boxes of ceramics stacked up almost to the ceiling sometimes. It makes the space feel a bit small, but it’s the only way to keep everything we need on hand. The floor is usually covered in a bit of grit from the boxes being moved around. We don't have a big fancy display area. We just open up the crates so people can see the patterns and the colors for themselves. Working in Koyembedu means we deal with a lot of different people every day. Some are just passing through and others are locals from the neighborhood. It’s a loud place because of the buses and trucks on Jawaharlal Nehru Salai, so we usually have to speak up when we're talking to customers. We’ve got a small desk in the back where we keep the ledger. It’s nothing special, just a regular business. We spend a lot of our time checking the deliveries that come in. Sometimes the crates are heavy and it takes a few of us to get them sorted. We don't worry too much about the look of the place as long as the work gets done and the orders are right.
