His Holiness Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal Memorial Foundation operates out of No 5 Lakshmi Nivas on Dr Subbarayan Nagar. Being in Kodambakkam, we are right in a very active part of Chennai. This foundation is a memorial, so there is a lot of respect for the name it carries, but we keep our actual office very humble. We work out of a few rooms in the Lakshmi Nivas building. It is the kind of place where you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long—the street vendors, the cars, and the neighbors talking. We spend our time managing various programs and keeping the records in order. It isn't always exciting work, but it is important to us. We try to be helpful to anyone who comes through the door looking for information. We don't have any professional receptionists or anything like that; whoever is free just goes to see who it is. We have a lot of old files because we've been doing this for a while now. The humidity in Chennai can be tough on the paper, so we try to keep things as tidy as possible. We are just a group of people who care about this work and want to keep it going from this small office in Kodambakkam. It is a simple life here, focused on the tasks at hand and staying true to the reason the foundation was started.
