About Hardware Service Engineer – Electronics in Chennai
Down here in Trichy, specifically at Plot No: 23 in Srinivasa Nagar East, I spend my time working as a hardware service engineer. It’s a quiet enough part of Edamalaipatti Pudur, but there is always someone with a broken computer. I’ve lived in this area for a long time, so I know the shortcuts and the people around here pretty well. My workday is basically a mix of sitting at my bench and riding my bike to different houses or small shops. The heat in Trichy can be really tough on hardware, so I see a lot of fried power supplies and overheated processors. It is a lot of manual work, unscrewing cases, blowing out the dust, and swapping out RAM sticks that have seen better days. I don't have a big corporate sign or anything like that. People just know where the house is on Plot 23. Sometimes I’ll have three or four monitors lined up, all waiting for parts to arrive from the city. It can be a bit slow waiting for deliveries, but that is just part of the deal. I like the hands-on aspect of it, though. There is a certain satisfaction when a machine that was completely dead finally hums back to life after you’ve poked at it for an hour. It’s just me doing my thing, keeping the local computers running as long as they possibly can before they eventually need replacing.
